The oppourtunities are very good for those of us who are tired of being marginalized due to preference of medical paths taken. Remember when holstic medicine was first introduced. New Mexico is the first state to allow growers the oppourtunity to be legal companies.
Currently you have three growers in N.M. for approx. 640 patients. This is where the scewed numbers policy makers are working with have come from.
Patients must start voicing objections to the passive and lackadaisacal operation of this program, come together in forcing realistic limits on policy makers and form some sort of cooperative to deal with the production in a manner that will allow everyone to be satisified. without the free-for-all fallout that occured in California

Big Ups to all Medical Marijuana patients and advocates.

I wanted to note that the medical cannabis programme in New Mexico, where I live, does allow for the possession in excess of six ounces IF the reason for possessing more than the regulated amount can be justified by a medical provider.

It does pust un neccessary restrictions on the function of a caregiver.

It makes no sense to me that I could possess a patients marijuana on my property or transport it but I am not ALLOWED TO GROW IT FOR THEM?

Wouln't it be prudent of the department of health to edit the regulations to allow for caregiver cultivation of medical marijuana?

Either way, the caregiver and patient are registered with the state and subject to the same random state audits.

If the medical non profits can produce 95 plants, why not allow a designated caregiver to do the same?

Our state's second in command of the programme is on maternity leave.

No one has been appointed to replace her in the meantime.

She and her boss are the only two people in the state who can approve of patient applications.

How many apps do you think are just sitting in an office?

I'm happy that people are flocking here to become legal residents.

It only takes six months to become a legal resident of New Mexico.

I invite seasoned vets in the medical cannabis community to come to New Mexico and helps us get our programme moving .

I might note that as of December 9, 2009 , we now have 889 medical cannabis patients and just over 240 registered to grow their own.

Tennessee loves Bernie Ellis! We're proud of you, Bernie! You speak for thousands of us! Please keep fighting for medical marijuana in Tennessee. We should be so lucky as New Mexico, even if a few bullheaded bureaucrats are trying to stand in the way of progress there. Marijuana users are still the enemy to a vast majority of Tennesseans; they won't take their boots off our necks without a fight. Our old Volunteer State is awash in ignorance - and the same folks still arguing Scopes are happy to have "potheads" to hate. Though friends, family, and community stand against us, "we shall overcome" this vicious oppression. One day we'll fire one up on the steps of Legislative Plaza and be fully within the law. God is on the side of compassion. We have to win. Until then, thanks, Bernie, for everything you're doing for this noble cause.

Bernie, I appreciate your efforts more than I can express. I've seen medical cannabis help people when the pharmaceutical industry's offerings made them sick, made them sleepy or dopey, were not affordable, were ineffective or interacted poorly with other prescribed medications.
Thank you again.

Someone had to put their head on the block and that was Bernie Ellis to raise issues in support of a medical cannabis program. He is educating us and the governments to rethink and consider alternative methods in medicinal approaches and treatment in the USA. To think outside the 'box'. which we know is not how our overly regulated medical and health care system function or conduct business. Who are we to say this health care alternative is 'absurd' or not the right way when there are human lives clinging to life who know that cannabis provides medicinal aid in their fight with a detrimental health issue.
