Santa Fe’s buskers caught on tape

By Charlotte on July 2nd, 2009

George Robinson is a harmonica master and a licensed busker in Santa Fe with a devoted following and an endless desire to promote street music in Santa Fe. Robinson has made it a mission to catch the best of Santa Fe’s street music on tape and post it on YouTube for the world to see. Check out our forthcoming July 8 issue for more on Santa Fe’s buskers.

The Shekhels are traveling through from Nashville to who-knows-where, busking for gas money (and that $35 they had to plunk down for a permit to play music in downtown Santa Fe).

The legendary Michael Combs rocks it the only way the accordion can: Awesomely.

George, I knew all that time on the Plaza a lot…and being a musician yourself…you would be famous someday. I know your performance in THE MADrid Blues Festival on the 11th will be GREAT…

My first time hanging out and playing on the Plaza, I was lucky enough to be befriended by George! And even luckier when he brought his harps the next day and sat in with me!! A great musician and a wonderful friend!

George is truly a Santa Fe treasure! He not only loves the music he records for Santa Feans but he is genuinely interested in people! He is a real class act!
