Eyedropper: Do You Know Me!

By Rani Molla on September 28th, 2009

There comes a time in every righteous citizen’s life when he or she feels the need to take the law into his or her own hands. In this case, the employees of a gas station north of Santa Fe took that extra step above and beyond to make sure booze were never stolen again: They made a sign reading, “Do you know me! I’m a thief!!”

The assumptions of this sign are what’s most interesting: It assumes the booze stealer will be known only to booze drinkers since this was the only placement of the sign in the store.

It assumes that if someone happens to know the guy who stole the booze, that person would rat him out (more booze for me when that guy’s not stealing it all).

It also assumes anyone would care about such an incident when there is clearly a four-pack of Sparks-brand alcoholic energy drink priced at only $5.49.

If you weren’t there, you should have been. Try harder next time. Here’s the best of what you missed.
